Youth Development Professional

General description of the position: Responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating youth activities that support BGCAC five core program areas; The Arts, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership Development and Sports, Fitness and Recreation for youth 13-18yrs old.
Essential Tasks & Responsibilities
Teach knowledge and skills in BGCAC five core areas. Provides effective classroom management and a positive learning environment for students.
Supervises daily After-School activities in the Teen Center. Prepares fully for weekly classroom instruction and special events.
Works in collaboration with BGCAC Teen Center Staff. Provide support to other program areas.
Develop and implement high yield learning activities. Assist Unit Director with strengthening relationships through planning, coordinating and implementation of projects in partnership with the Community.
Completes any other task assigned by Unit Director. Manage effectively, behaviors that are aligned with the club, grant compliance and health & safety protocols.
Assure that the daily operation complies with the requirements for a license Child Care After-School facility.

Physical Demands: Requires standing and/or sitting on a regular basis. Ability to properly use computer software programs including Microsoft office suite, member tracking, and grant compliance systems. Ability to use computer equipment, fax, copy machine, calculator etc. Valid Driver’s License required
Mental Demands: Ability to analyze problems, strategic planning, and Project management. Ability to manage problems with concrete variables, collect data and valid conclusions. Ability to read reports and apply concepts.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal language skills that would aloud clear communication internally and externally. Bilingual prefer Spanish/English.
Working Conditions: Work in a normal Club environment which can vary if necessary. It requires transportation between different places.
Education and/or experience: Associate degree in Child Development or 3 years of equivalent experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
